BIO
Cathleen was born and raised in the beautiful Miramichi region of New Brunswick Canada where her interest in art began early in childhood with the love of watching her father's paintings come to life.
"I can't imagine a home without art! It was the love of my childhood and has continued to be throughout my life......studying art in colleges in California and North Carolina in my younger years, then continuing the study through books, video, museum visits and working with other artists I continue to grow. It's a never ending education."
Today you could find Cathleen anywhere in the Miramichi river valley with a plein air kit drawing or painting in the open air or even in her car. Working with Oils, Pastels, Watercolors, Gouache and Pen & Ink, she chooses her medium at random, loving the challenge of being able to convey the emotional appeal of any particular place through her signature mark making.
Past secretary and past president (2019-2021) of the local art group *Miramichi Art Core* , Cathleen has exhibited her work in group shows throughout the area since 2007. Among many indoor and outdoor displays she has also exhibited at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton NB for their member show in 2014, Harrison House Gallery in St John NB (now closed) and Bay View Gallery in Bathurst NB. She has painted in all plein air festivals sponsored by the Miramichi Art Core in the Miramichi area. In the summer of 2021 and 2022 she was one of the artists in Residence for Beaubears Island. She is also Artist in Residence for Wilson's Point Historic Site... 2019 to present
